submission update
Hi dudes! This is Mary Jessica. I'll be doing the PR for FLUKE this year. You also will see me performing trapeze during FLUKE's show at night, if you stick around long enough.
Anyway, a brief l'il update on submissions:
If you want to send submissions electronically, please make sure that those jpegs and tiffs are at least 350 dpi, and, as Patrick mentioned previously, 5.5 (width) by 8.5 (vertical) inches (digest size). We prefer tiffs, though. We also enjoy snail-mailing (does anyone still say that?) CDs of images over e-mailing.
And if you want to just draw something on a piece of paper and send it in the mail, that's A-OK too.
Something important to note: If you don't want us to use any of your work in publicity materials, please let us know. We'd like to be able to give newspapers and magazines images to be printed with any potential articles. This isn't the same thing as you being hired to do illustration work for the newspaper or magazine, so you wouldn't be paid. These images would just be considered to be part of the press materials we'd send out in publicity. If that isn't appealing to you, just let us know that your submission is only for the anthology and no publicity, 'kay?
You can always e-mail us with any questions at flukesubmissions(at)gmail(dot)com.
Thanks dudes, and I'm excited to see everyone at FLUKE! MJ
