Fluke Mini-Comics Festival
WIDE AWAKE PRESS
FLUKE TOUR

In an effort to confuse and distract other motorist on the way to Athens, Wide Awake Press decide to paint the van.

Justin begins the trip with his vocal impersonations of Mini Pearl and Fred Sanford. The van falls silent for 30 minutes afterwards.

In the back of the van, Duane works feverishly to concept, draw, print and assemble his book "Meatloaf Freak" before another impersonation.

Chris tells how monsters really do live under his bed and that Elvis plays a sold out concert for them every 3rd Wednesday. The van is silent until it hits Athens, Georgia.

The Wide Awake Press table over flows with comicy goodness.

Mr. Vandiver explains how his 180 pg micro-comic took only 7 months to produce and is best read with an electron microscope.

After hearing Top Shelf Rob's explanation of how real books are made, it suddenly hits Duane that he had earlier spent 30 bucks for a folded up, stapled xerox copy.

Andrew Davis crouches out of sight waiting for the perfect moment to unleash his patented "Hillbilly Pounce".

Mr. Newsome demonstrates how to work the manual attachment lever on the obverse side of the his new F-22 radioactive lapel button that he built from leftover Mego parts.

Justin Gammon and Andrew Davis listen as Duane recounts the time he had to fight off an army of the living dead with only a can of cheese wiz and a 459 AHR (automatic head remover).

Mr. Henderson reveals his suspicion that Tasty World may actually be a bar.

Visual confirmation just was inconclusive.

Mr. Weing and Antarellis settle in for a nice helping of paper and staples ala carte.

Chelsea Lea and Lance Simmons talk about the subtle ins-and-outs of the punk rock aesthetic.

Andy, Duane and Andrew discuss how nice it is that Chris was able to control the exposure level of his butt clevage today.

Drunk on mini-comics the Wide Awake Press crew prepare to leave for good ole Greenville SC and their houses made of straw. Duane Ballenger, Taylor Vandiver, Andrew Davis, J Chris Campbell and Justin Gammon will see you FLUKEs next year. Unless they die.

Chris trades travel storys about the Wizard Of Oz theme park.

Andy Runton, like many FLUKE attendants, takes this oportunity to read the entire comic before deciding not to purchase it.

Andrew joyfully basks in the immaculate glow of FLUKE the anthology.

J Chris Campbell searches the Wide Awake Press backstock for his crack pipe.

Taylor watches in frustration as Chris swirves off the road and over 2 homeless people.

Rob Venditti shows a customer his master list of all the comic book storys he has been pitched. He keeps very good notes and is always happy to hear them no matter how small or unformed the ideas are.
